5 Important Tips For A Healthy Diabetics Diet









Diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by high blood sugar caused by damage of pancreatic cells that secrete the insulin hormone responsible for regulating blood sugar,  and converting sugar to energy for the benefit of the cells of the body.
 If blood sugar levels are not controlled, the patient Is exposed to many serious complications such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases , kidney diseases , visual problems , and many other complications. Diabetic patients are advised to follow a healthy diet and to healthy habits appropriate for diabetics. It is recommended to focus on food rich in dietary fibers and to reduce as much as possible foods rich in carbohydrates with high glycemic index, because it raises blood sugar levels directly after meals . On the other hand , with foods with low glycemic index, it takes time for the blood sugar levels to rise and therefore there will be a better chance to control the blood sugar. 

Diabetics are advised to follow a diet that focuses on the consumption of a good amount of fibers which can be found in vegetables and Fruits, and the reduction of sugar and fats, especially saturated fats, and the goal of the diet is to regulate the secretion of insulin to control the level of sugar in the blood, and must first determine the nutritional needs of the diabetic and the amount of calories to be addressed .

A Healthy Diet For Diabetics :

A diabetic should consider the following when following a diet :
1- A healthy diet for the diabetics should contain the whole food groups, taking into account the amount of calories required , which is determined by blood sugar tests and the weight of the patient. It also concentrates on foods that contain high fiber, because it helps reduce the level of sugar in the blood and reduce the absorption of fat, because it works on the packaging of carbohydrates and fats in the stomach and prevent their absorption, and thus help to alleviate the problems of constipation suffered by a large number of patients, Bran, brown rice and legumes are fiber-rich foods.
2- Reduce the intake of foods containing saturated fats, such as red meat and replace them with fish, poultry and nuts you can also use olive oil in cooking instead of butter, and roasting instead of oil frying, and remove fat from meat and poultry before cooking. Eat low-fat dairy products as a substitute for whole-fat dairy. This system must be used as a daily, permanent and continuous routine.

3- Diabetics should avoid eating sweets and foods containing sugar, drinking soft drinks and sugar-containing juices as they contribute to the elevation of blood sugar levels very rapidly . Reduce salt in food and avoid consumption of canned food because it contains a large amount of salt, which contributes to the raising of blood pressure, which is originally a complication of diabetes.
4- Regular exercise is extremely  beneficial for heart health and helps in weight loss and lowering blood sugar levels.

5- Also don’t forget to : drink enough water and to Chew your food well, so the body can benefit more.
